  A car went over a curb, ran over a fence post and nearly crashed into a Penn State residence hall early Saturday morning on the University Park campus. At about 3:40 a.m, a red Camaro traveling south downhill on Shortlidge Road jumped the curb and drove another 150 feet before nearly hitting Simmons Hall.  Penn State Police said there were no witnesses who saw the car crash, but the residents of Simmons Hall heard the loud noise from inside the residence hall and called the police. The driver of the car crossed onto the wrong side of the road, ran over a fence post along the sidewalk, broke the fence, and ran over the sidewalk entrance in front of the Simmons Hall door.
